Gaming is a significant genre on social media especially the image-heavy platform such as Instagram or video-focused platform like YouTube. There is a natural synergy between playing a video game yourself, and then watching others demonstrate their gaming prowess. With the recent rise of eSports, it comes as no surprise to find many gaming influencers start getting wealthy and popular just by enhancing their social media profiles and collaborating with brands on influencer marketing campaign.

Here are the top 10 gaming influencers on Instagram in 2018. All of the data are collected and analyzed by using InfluencerDB premium software for influencer marketing and influencer relationship management.

PEWDIEPIE (14.2M FOLLOWERS)

Swedish YouTuber Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, is unquestionably one of the biggest gaming influencers with almost 60 million YouTube subscriptions. He had partnerships with huge brands such as Google and Disney. However, at the beginning of last year, these partners cut the ties from the Let’s Play star as he attracted negative attention with anti-semitic comments in his videos.

One year after the incident, the 28-year old PewDiePie is still working on restoring his reputation. And as his follower numbers show, he still is a big hit on social media, especially on Instagram and YouTube. Recent posts on his Instagram account reveal a collaboration with the watch brand Tayroc.
